Environmental Health (Concentration)
Georgia State University
Description
Graduates of the MPH in Environmental Health program build essential skills to protect human health and the environment. They learn how laws, regulations, and policies shape environmental health efforts and how to assess risks from various environmental hazards. They also study major pollutants—like chemicals and biological agents—and understand how this affects human health. Using principles from biology, chemistry, and public health, graduates learn to create and maintain healthy environments and control environmental risks. Lastly, they identify vulnerable groups who may be more affected by environmental exposures. Together, these skills prepare them to tackle environmental health challenges effectively.
