Description

The interdisciplinary environmental studies major examines natural and cultural systems from many perspectives – ecological, economic, ethical, historical, geographical, and political. Students study the conservation and utilization of natural resources essential for economic development and public well-being. The curriculum analyzes the problems, processes, and possibilities of creating a more sustainable society. It also offers preparation for an environmental career, broad background in several related areas of study, or concentration in a particular thematic issue as a basis for graduate study.
