Description
The Associate of Arts Degree in Geography is integrated environmental program that seeks to understand human interaction with the natural world. The Program is divided into human geography (study of location and other aspects of human activities) and physical geography (study of landforms, geology, climate, etc.). Geography courses include subject matter related to both the social sciences (e.g., sociology and economics) and the natural sciences (eg., geology, biology and physics). The degree provides a more generalist and interdisciplinary approach than other social and physical sciences, while also offering practical skills such as map visualization using geographic information systems (GIS).
