Description

Many complex challenges facing society occur at the intersection of environmental science and public policy. Students in Loyola University Chicago's dual degree programs with the Master of Public Policy develop the literacy and skills in both these arenas, preparing them for careers in government, non-profit organizations, and businesses. The program begins with broad, interdisciplinary training in undergraduate courses. In their graduate studies, students then develop in-depth understanding of policy issues and the professional skills needed to influence policy and its outcomes.

Students in the program complete BS or BA requirements in four years and earn a MPP degree in the fifth year. The MPP degree requires 37 credit hours of coursework with 12 credits completed in the fourth year of undergraduate studies. Since this is a professional degree program, it does not require a thesis but rather an internship or capstone experience, allowing students to apply their skills learned in the program and gain work experience.
