An area of concentration in Environmental Studies is concerned with chemical pollutants, environmental geology, local and regional planning, environmental biology, and monitoring of the environment with regard to conservation and safety issues. It also provides the necessary knowledge to pursue an advanced degree, if desired. Students with an area of concentration in Environmental Studies, depending on their particular coursework, may find careers in transportation, politics, education, law, research, waste management, utilities, marine biology, zoology, planning, ecology, law enforcement, park services, forestry, and government or non-profit administration.
