Description

This program aims to develop environmental leaders, managers, and professionals who are critical and insightful thinkers as well as creative problem solvers skilled in leading transformational change toward a more sustainable and just society. Students select a concentration from four options:

  • Environmental Education and Activism

  • Sustainable Community Development

  • Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Sustainability

  • Environmental Thought and Practice

The program is academically rigorous and grounded in an interdisciplinary and problem-based approach to addressing the opportunities and challenges of shifting toward a sustainable society. Hands-on learning and service to community and society are the cornerstones of the educational experience, starting with the first year residential experience in the first month and the 4th year capstone community sustainability project.
