Merritt College is proud to be one of the first community colleges in the nation to offer a certificate in Permaculture Design. Our two-year program provides students with a firm understanding of sustainable design principles, while our 7. 5 acre campus gives them the space to put those principles into practice. Two semesters of Permaculture Design courses make up the core of the curriculum. Courses meet once a week, and the half lecture and half practical format allows students ample time for hands-on experience in organic farming, natural building and water harvesting techniques.
