MS in Environmental Science
Portland State University
Description
A Master in Science (MS) degree requires the student to conduct a research project that demonstrates the ability to formulate a research hypothesis and a study design and prepare a report (thesis) written in a style typical of the scientific literature. The student will develop an in-depth understanding of the scientific literature and learn how to analyze problems, develop research questions, and present the results of their work in the context of the existing literature. The MS course curriculum is similar to that of the Master of Environmental Management (MEM) degree.
