Description

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to Planetary Health, focusing on the key concepts, drivers of human pollution, and the health impacts of climate change. Students will learn to describe the primary factors shaping environmental health challenges and explore the role of molecular epidemiology and exposome measurement in understanding these issues. The course emphasizes the importance of cultural norms in influencing exposure risks and the acceptability of health assessments. Students will also examine the potential of new technologies, such as remote exposure assessment, telemedicine, and digital health, in addressing Planetary Health challenges. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, students will work on research tasks relevant to Planetary Health and engage with local communities and stakeholders to gain insight into cultural, socio-economic, and political factors influencing the field in different contexts.
