Description

The M.S. Geosciences Program with concentrations in Geography, Geology, or Water Science, trains students in the study of the social and physical dimensions of Earth and environment, tackling the interrelated environmental and social challenges of the 21st century through experiential learning and community-engaged scholarship. The program’s mission is to prepare students for professional and academic careers in a variety of fields including geospatial analysis, remote sensing, and GIS techniques; professional geology and Earth science; human-environment geography; environmental monitoring and regulation; natural resource conservation, management, and governance; critical geography and community engagement on socio-environmental challenges; hydrology, water governance, and water science; weather and climate science; urban environments and geographies; as well as scholarship in urban studies addressing housing, infrastructure, and planning.
