Description

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers interdisciplinary graduate programs led by expert faculty with connections to leading companies, utilities, and agencies in the greater D.C. area and beyond. A minimum of 36 credit hours of coursework beyond the bachelor's is required for the Doctor of Philosophy in civil engineering. At least 12 of these credits must be completed at the University of Maryland. A minimum of 12 semester hours of dissertation research is also required. Students must maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA in CEE courses and an overall grade point average of 3.0 from outside the department.
