The BA degree in Earth Science covers a broad spectrum of topics and is designed to give the Earth science major an understanding of the Earth's materials and processes. Topical areas in the Earth science curriculum encompass astronomy, meteorology, oceanography, as well as geology. The Earth Science major can be combined with a major in Environmental Studies for students interested in the impact humanity has on the natural environment. Graduates can expect to find career opportunities in a number of areas, including oil or energy, environmental consulting, state water control, the Environmental Protection Agency and many others.
