Planning affects our everyday lives and is an exciting discipline to study at university. Society currently faces major challenges - attracting investment, creating jobs, protecting the environment, finding sustainable energy supplies, providing housing, transport links and local amenities - and planning plays a critical role in how all of these things happen.
